Overview From the outside, the new Getz has a sportier appearance, characterised by a stronger and more unified front end treatment. The development of the styling is aimed at appealing to younger drivers and conforming more closely to modern European tastes. Exterior The front end of the car has been given a fully integrated treatment with a redesigned bonnet and even stronger character lines that add visual emphasis to the grille, headlights and front bumper section. The wrap-around clear glass headlamps, black bumper inserts and front spoiler with neatly integrated fog lights give a clean and sporty appearance. Interior Inside, the instrument panel has been redesigned and is even easier to read, thanks to the use of LED colour graphics. And the revised and repositioned instrument cluster incorporates a trip computer, fuel and temperature gauges and ancillary warning lights. The new Getz has a new centre console tray with extra space for small items and a light has been added to the glovebox. Map pockets on the doors have been redesigned for easier use and smarter appearance. Elsewhere there is a tray beneath the passenger seat, seat back pockets & handy bag hooks. Under the hood There is a new 1.4 litre petrol engine with variable valve timing for enhanced performance and fuel efficiency, and a revised 1.1 litre four-cylinder petrol unit. The entry level engine produces 67 PS (66bhp) and remains exceptionally frugal, returning 51.4mpg in official Combined Cycle driving, while having been revised to meet Euro IV emissions standards. The intelligent four-speed automatic transmission has been developed specifically for the Getz.
